Vacancy for a Maintenance Gardener

At Crowhurst Christian Healing Centre (CCHC), the presence of God is tangibly experienced through worship, ministry, hospitality and throughout our beautiful grounds. We are seeking a creative and experienced Maintenance Gardener to help maintain and develop 5 acres within our 20-acre estate, nurturing an environment where guests can encounter the Lord Jesus and see evidence of the Creator’s hand in the natural surroundings.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about horticulture, confident in practical grounds maintenance, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong practical gardening experience and plant knowledge
- Is experienced in using and maintaining gardening machinery and tools
- Has good health & safety awareness (First Aid desirable)
- Is physically fit, self-motivated and able to manage a varied workload
- Can confidently network and balance differing priorities
- Is able to motivate and direct volunteers with clarity and encouragement
- Demonstrates a positive, flexible and conscientious approach
There is no requirement for the postholder to be a practising Christian; however, they must be supportive of and sympathetic to the Christian ethos and values of the Centre.
Hours & Salary
Applications welcome for full-time or part-time (to be agreed)
Normally worked Monday–Friday between 8.00am–5.30pm (30-minute unpaid lunch) plus occasional weekend work (time off in lieu provided)
Starting salary: £12.71 per hour (dependent on skills and experience)
20 days annual leave plus 8 public holidays (increasing with service)
