Psalms & the Life of Faith - Teaching Session Two
- Speaker:
- David Mayhew
How can we sing the songs of the Lord in a strange land, the Psalmist in Psalm 137 cries?
For many, the foundations of society are changing in alarming ways and at a frightening speed. This leaves us with many questions. How do we keep hold of God and His promises when underneath seems to be shifting sand? How can we even know Him or indeed meet with Him in order to find new strength and courage, as well as His perspective on what we are going through.
The Psalms have been a deep resource for people of faith over millennia. The Psalmists themselves have been through all the ups and downs of life, from extreme moments of joy when the world seemed good and all as it should be, to extreme moments of despair when the sky seemed to be falling in.
In three teaching sessions, we invite you to join us on a fresh journey in the Psalms together, to deepen our knowledge of God’s word, to be encouraged as we see our lives reflected in the faith journeys of the psalmists, to meet God in the ‘sanctuary’, and to be enriched as we learn in deeper ways to sing once again the songs of the Lord in a strange land.
The teaching sessions have been designed so that they work as a series as well as stand-alone sessions.
All three teaching sessions will be conducted on Zoom. Join us online, over a cuppa from 10am. The teaching begins at 10.30am. Codes and further information will be sent nearer the time.
These teaching sessions are available to everyone and to that end there is no charge. If you are able to support the ministry of CCHC, enabling us to continue to provide retreats and other content, like these sessions, we would be extremely grateful. Our recommended donation for each teaching session is £10. By making a donation above this amount you enable someone else to come.
If you cannot attend on the day, please email crowhurstrectory@btconnect.com to request a recording of the teaching.
