Quiet Day - Ascension Day
David Mayhew
The Ascension is an incredibly neglected part of our Christian teaching and reflection. We will find cards in our shops to celebrate Christmas and the events of Easter but not the Ascension.
Yet it wasn’t just the death and resurrection of Jesus that transformed very frightened and bewildered disciples into fearless preachers of the Gospel. It was the realisation that Jesus had not only risen from the dead, but that that trajectory had continued culminating in Him ascending to the ultimate position of authority in the universe, at the right hand of God as Prophet, Priest and King. This revelation changed them, and indeed our world, as they courageously began to proclaim God’s Kingdom in the power of the Holy Spirit in the midst of extremely difficult circumstances.
Our world is a very difficult place to live in right now, with huge currents shaking the nations and impacting our personal lives. We need a fresh revelation like never before of the One who is truly and powerfully on the throne, as He indeed has been in the past, is now, and will be forever.
Do come and join us on this Quiet Day to receive God’s encouragement and refreshment as we together raise our gaze and look to the Ascended One on the throne of the universe!
Join us in person at CCHC (10am - 4pm) or online from the comfort of your home.
Sessions at 10am, 12noon & 2pm
