Pilgrimage Weekend
- Speaker:

There is a renewed interest in Pilgrimage in these days. It is traditionally associated with travelling to a place where people have prayed in the past or met with God in significant ways.
It also speaks of a journey that God has called us to make, which is therefore imbued with a heightened sense of God consciousness. On a pilgrimage we are open to Him breaking into our lives and changing us, as well as meeting Him in the ’ordinary’ things of life.
Just like our journey of faith, a pilgrimage can therefore be a physical journey as well as an internal one.
On this retreat weekend, we will be exploring what a pilgrimage is and how it relates to our journey of faith. The Bible has much to say on pilgrimage, from Abraham who was told by God to ‘go walk through the length and breadth of the land for I am giving it to you’ (Genesis 13v17), to Jesus who said ‘I am the Way’ (John 14v6). The early Christians were in fact called followers of the Way (Acts 24v14).
The weekend will include a journey to a local place of spiritual significance - a 5 mile walk for those who are able and transport there for those who are not.
Come join us to meet with God as we make pilgrimage together!
